How often does every one clean thier car?!? personaly i clean mine once a week, as its black and gets so dirty, especially as its the winter. and also what polish/wax do you use?

i clean mine with a wash 2 times a week, but 3 in the summer... (black again ;) )
Ive just had mine pro polished, but before that i used to 'polish' it with megs nxt generation tech wax, very good product i may add as well, but i never polished it every week.

Im gonna move onto something a little more professional now tho, to try and keep the paint in tip top condition :D

woh that makes me feel a bit better. i only wash mine at most once a week and sumtimes less n still my family say im obsessive! fort i mite be lovin my car too much but now i no im normal

mines silver tho so quite easy to keep clean. use carplan products.

during summer i was it 3 times a week
winter i could wash it every day with the sh1t on the roads, so again probs 3times

i use meguiars gold class and same but in polish format

very good products and leave the car incredibly shiny but like ibiza_95 im moving onto more professional products with my next ibiza :)

when it gets to the point where people have written on it then I clean it.

Or if there is a cruise on.

Don't tend to polish till show season comes around.

Use Autoglym washin stuff, need to get back to usin the finish stuff as thats good.

Polish with Megs or AutoGlym.

Another black car here. But with white multispokes, making it a PAIN in the arse when they get even the slightest bit dirty. But look soooo good when clean. Wash it once a week in the winter. And in the summer every week or after it has rained (which ever comes first). Use a turtle wax shampo with a washmit, then squidgee off the water, dry with microfibre towels and wax the bonnet using some Autoglym stuff. Then apply tyre dressing. Only wax the whole car about every 5 weeks.

Not a mk2 but... i wash my mk3 every sunday, using the 2 bucket method with megs gold class shampoo and megs tech wax, i try to wax every time i wash to build the layers up! The beading is awsome!

Ive decided twice a year it will get a full detail including 2 bucket wash method, clay, paint clense with megs stg 1, polish with AG SRP, then megs tech wax, going to use a sealent next time as well.

Looking to get some better products for the summer months tho ;)

I would look after mine better but until it gets a re-spray and all dents removed I don't see the point.

Whereas with my orange one I am surprised I didnt clean the paint off.

Surely using the two bucket method both buckets of water end up gettin dirty?

They do but not to the extent of using one bucket, with the rinse bucket you do exactly that rinse all the crap off and let it settle at the bottom, you can get grit guards which look pretty handy! you just have to make sure all the crap is off the mit before dipping into the soapy bucket again, Give it ago you will see the differance.

do u not take your white wheels off to clean them?

No, just wash it spoke by spoke. I did take them off once to try and get rid of some really fine swirls/scratches off the wheels. Normally you wouldn't see them, but because the wheels are white , all the black dirt that gets stuck in those tiny grazes shows up loads . So I took the wheels off and using some proper old school T-cut colour restorer (in a tin), T-cutted the wheels. Takes about 40 mins per wheel so I only managed to do two wheels  . But the difference it makes is amazing, as all the grazes have gone, and are still gone (done those two wheels 3 months ago). Makes the wheels look like new (my wheels have never been refurbed).

spent £50 on auto glym cleaning products and i washed it once sinc ei had the car :p

I take mine off and use Muc Off and use a brush to agitate stuff off. If any tar is stick on I use the autoglym tar remover stuff.

Only tend to take the fronts off as the rears dont get dirty that much from not having rear disc brakes :)

I do wish I had 6 spokes some days :(

In the summer, I wash it once a week (that's wash, wax, tyre dressing, rubber dressing, window polish). In the winter, uhm..... rather less often. There's a decent car wash in loughborough who hand wash using autoglym, so I might have a look over there. It's just too darn cold right now to find the motivation to do it!

I polish two or three times a year - once at around easter, probablu once during the summer, once before winter. This will include clay, scratchx etc, I will take a whole day over it.

no wonder theres a hose pipe ban, all this washing!
once @ MOT time, then before hols.
oh forgot both about same time so just the once a year!

my ibiza at fast and modified show in scotland last year:
few layers of every polish and wax i own
