Hi all, nice to join the forum.

I'm looking to buy a VZ3 formentor, its not straightforward! Lets ignore stock availability and colours on and off.

If i look at the brochures 1181 3260_04102022 (oct 2022) or 11838538 _04102022 (nov 2022) [1] the VZ3 comes with
brembo front
10 spoke wheels
matrix lights

I drive in EU a bit so i reckon i need matrix headlights. HOW do i tell if it has them? iq in glass or some other giveaway? When salesman started the lights up, i noted 8 square sections of light coming out, in retrospect should have stood in front with light on mobile. BUT from reading it seems led dynamic range control internally is SAME as matrix, the only difference is the camera controlling it somewhere?
Im right at the point of buying the car! another suposedly keen on ths very car so need answer by Monday o_O

1). Anyone know how to tell if matrix? Build date is 19/01/2023

The salesman isnt 100% clear on the spec! seems he has a document but not possible to share.
Its not been prepared yet after shipping (lower driver door damage tiny gouge in silver bit on crease - delivery trailer?) - not ideal but no wait and great colour (once cleaned).
Because of this, I have a photo of the shipping doc, with: vin, model (km7cqt), production number, additional information (9SLQ?? - not sharing full in case sensitive).

2). Does anyone know of / rumour when is the facelift formentor available for order. one salesman said May 2023. Autocar thinks 2024.
At least Terramar [2] (the car i really like assuming 300ps+phev) is starting production 2024 (dec?).

You could check with the diagnostic device such as OBDeleven if that's an option. The only other way I could think of would be to drive the car with high beams set to auto.

Thanks for the reply!

TLDR;
Get a decent salesperson to check for "Matrix" lights in car Spec, simple! If salesperson has no idea go to another one (difficult with few VZ3's in country/on boat)!
Phone cupra with the vin handy you snapped a photo of on the delivery sheet from factory, they told me exactly what car had fitted (they confirmed, until this point was very sketchy).
Don't think dealers do night time test drives, at least this one didnt or wasnt willing to do a second drive.
Maybe there are codes in the boot of options, then look up on vag-codes.com

Long story..
Original camo VZ3 got damaged when went to buy, was repaired, seemed different colour in photo of repair, by time i went to buy they sold few hrs before on PCP!
Managed to find another VZ3.
Went to NEW professional dealer, Red car not Camo (much better then expected in person), they looked in system, knew where to find if it had fitted.
Collect car at the weekend.
FWIW Vospers Exeter very helpful and professional if a bit of a drive. Local dealer less so :O
