Not one I have any experience in but I would not have thought a battery replacement would cure this.

i saw this article (granted for Audi) but a lot of the web pages talk about wiring / sensor issues.

Hopefully somebody who know these codes can confirm

Yes I would always code in a new battery, this tells the charging system you have a new battery and therefore charges (over time) differently.

With regards to the serial number all that is important is that it is one character different to the current one so just add 1 to the number you allready have and it will be fine.

As per my previous post I dont know this issue but suspect that once you have coded and tried to clear the errors they will come back as there is a wiring problem and a new battery wont help, but hopefully somebody who has dealt with this issue before can confirm.

Okay because I’ve had it coded and the faults are still showing up so at this point it’s got to be a wiring issue

Even if the battery were incorrectly coded, it would be the smallest problem. 98% of the time, the error has nothing to do with the battery.

My bad I suppose, I just bought a new battery for my 1.4 ECO TSi not realising that it would need reprogramming. Tried it, starts fine, but loads of errors and stuff not working. So had to put the old one back as I have no means of reprogramming it myself - anyone know where I might get it done near Sidcup, preferably not a main dealer for obvious reasons?

Take the car for a drive 10 minutes and then off on again and see if errors go first
