How to remove gear knob?

as above really anyone ever done this?

Just remove the boot cover first. You will see how the gear knob is attached.

Feel through the leather gaitor at the side nearest the dash.

There are two clips as you feel through, flick them up and then slide the base of the gaiter towards the handbrake and lift it up.

Pull it right over the knob so you can see the fitment, pull of with a pair of pliers then refix on with a jubilee clip... once the clip is removed it cannot be reused.

Then push all back in place, including the clips - job done.

only prob if you are putting aftermarket gear knob on by the way it after the gaitor won't fit very well as there is nothing to tuck it into. I really need to buy a new gaitor for mine now!

got a momo gearknob I did tuck the gaitor into it but it fell out eventually.

i sewed my gaitor together for my sparco one, looks the biz!

tried that it worked for a while at the mo a piece of wire is through it that goes under the gear knob but it looks a bit crap. I will have to a shaft sleeve to make up the gap.
