Hey guys and girls I plasti dipped my wing mirror covers the other day and a few people have been trying to find a tutorial of how to remove the glass and the cover so i thought id make 1 with pictures. So here it goes...
1 - Heres your "tools"
2 - Using the mirror glass switch or manual knob, whichever you have, move the glass so the outer edge has the biggest gap. Then use a thin butter knife to pry off the top until it clicks and then use your hand to hold the glass and pop off the bottom to.
3 - Now you should see the five pegs that need to be unclipped and pushed out with a screwdriver. WARNING! keep your hand on the mirror cap as i didnt and it flew off haha.
4 - I hung my mirrors from the washing line when i Plastidipped them.
First coat
Second coat
Fifth last coat
Mirrors dry and done
To put back on push the glass on first and then line up the back cover and push on until it all clicks.
On the car before and after.
