Title says it all really. is there a way to tell? I moved from a 175bhp Saab to my TFSI 200 in June and at first whilst I enjoyed the extra horses, I convinced myself it was the placebo effect of a new toy, and after a while i would get used to the relatively small number of extra horses...but I haven't.
Just been out and did some B road blasting. Boy the car has some punch and tbh it got me thinking, could it have been tuned?
I asked the dealer if it had any mods and he said there had been none, and no paperwork indicating any tinkering either.
So...is there any easy way to check, or am I going to quell my questioning with a trip to a rolling road.?
Thinking further...if it has been tuned and I'm in a prang am I in dangerous territory re insurance? Would it be nullified

i am sure there is a way to read the ECU to see if it has been remapped like

I'd get it put on the RR and if it's putting out what looks like stage 1 figures, then I'd let the insurance company know

It's a tricky one, when I bought my first cupra I was told it was standard....only to find out it had a stage 1 remap after I had bought it!!!!

If there are any mappers near you they can most certainly plug there computer into your ECU and will be able to see a file or if it is blocked then it will have been mapped.
