I have recently purchased a Leon 1.9 tdi (105) 59 plate but it has only got 1 standard key how can I tell if it should have a remote key, thanks

Thanks for the quick response,It come with only 1 key with no buttons which only unlocks the drivers door,do you know if I can and where and roughly how much a new remote would be thanks

you can reprogramme the keys via vcds i think so doesnt have to a be that expensive. However i would be more concerned by the fact you have bought a car thats missing the main key, go back and ask for it, or one day your going to wake up and it will have gone!

Someone probably lost the main key. Wouldn't worry too much as these sort of things happen. If you can afford it the easiest option is just to pay a SEAT dealer the £150 for a new flip key. Using the spare gets annoying as its easy to trigger the alarm if you don't turn on the engine almost straight away after unlocking

From recent experience you will need to get the top half of the key (key blade and transpoder) from SEAT. My dealer charged me £60. The lower half of the key (the bit with the buttons and remote) can be purchased anywhere, I suggest ebay, for £16. You can then programme the remote locking yourself. Instructions are in the car manual. SEAT wanted another £60 for this so you can save yourself a bit of money.
