Does anyone know of a good turbo upgrate for the 110 engine? I don't want to go for the VNT17 off a PD150, want something with a bit more room to expand. Is the Allard VT2 any good? Don't seem to be many UK suppliers of these hybrid VNT turbos, unlike the US!

I was thinking of getting one of those 17/20 hybrids from Kerma in the US, but not sure if, say Custom code would be able to tune for it....

Your thoughts.. :)

Allards are no more. Get a turbo dynamics stage 2 which most good diesel tuning companies can tune to 230+ bhp on stock injectors which rules out JBS/Custom Code as they themself say they cannot tune a diesel car to that level on stock injectors so go RS tuning,P Torque or basically anyone else really...

Cheers mate. I don't have stock injectors anyway...but I don't have a PD engine either!

I take it the turbodynamics hybrid turbos are not 'off the shelf' units, but built to order?

Im looking at getting my remap done at Storm Developments as they are close to me.

Turbo`s can be bought direct or as an exchange but as for the time takern to recieve the turbo from when you order best phone Turbo Dynamics.

Set 1 - PD130

Stage 1 = MD345 = GT17 compressor wheel.
Stage 2 = MD446 = GT20 compressor wheel.

Set 2 - PD150
Stage 1 = MD374 = GT17 compressor wheel
Stage 2 = MD376 = GT20 compressor wheel

Stage 1 – MD374

Hi flow GT17 compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree thrust bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’, modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’ modifications. APPROX 200 - 220 BHP

Stage 2 – MD376

Hi flow 2275 spec compressor wheel, cnc machined compressor housing, 360 degree thrust bearing, cut back turbine blades, lightening of turbine wheel for faster ‘spool up’, modified V.N.T. turbine housing, uprated turbine seals. Other ‘blueprinting’ modifications. APPROX 240-260 BHP

Stage 1 £925 plus VAT for new unit
Stage 2 £975 plus VAT for new unit
The above prices are quite old now so probably changed slightly.

Fantastic :D you work for them?!

I know where I will be going for my turbo then. Just got to save hard now :(

I expect a stage 1 for 200 odd HP will be enough for my non PD engine. I'm looking to eventually get close or even over the 200hp mark, but it's gona be a long (expensive!) road...but worth it

Cool. MD374 then. Do you still get a quick response from one of these as I dont want something that only gives usable boost at 2500rpm up??

Spool up should be just as good if not slightly better then a stock GT1749V PD150 turbo as you still have the same size compressor wheel plus the wheels have now cut back blades that will help spool up. I don`t work for turbo dynamics i am just a sad basstard interested in turbos and diesel tuning.

Read about several around 180-200 bhp range don`t know the torque. The older common rail TDI engine like you guys have i don`t really know to much about tuning wise but if you cannot find the info you want here search or ask on TDI club as that is mostly American based site where they are still tuning these engines as they have only just started recieving PD engines. The best guy to ask in England for advice and to buy stuff would be Simon Cooper :worship: who i have a lot of respect for and run Central VW/Audi see HERE
