What you need is some spanish plates (and plate surrounds :D ).
Looks really tidy that mate. Really like it. Also saw this on ebay and thought it looked a bit tidy.
Have to get a mids meet for the mk2 crew as there are a few of us now.
Get some photos taken

I agree mate, I saw a yellow one up at bassets pole the other day, dont normally see to many around here but it looked ok.

taking all the badges off seemed to confuse all the saxo driving yoofs around me! the day I took them off was the day they all started sitting my arse and trying to beat me off the lights! i think they thought it was a 1.4 with a loud exhaust or something!!! on the topic of re-maps/chips, AMD do one. about 10bhp on an 8v for 400 quid! don't know about the 16v one though. and I bought a generic eprom "superchip" from the gaybay for 30 quid. fitted it to a spare ecu (rather that wreck mine) and got it coded to work on my car. all it seemed to do was give me a lumpy idle and a 7k rpm rev limit! (not good on a low revving 8v with 140k on the clock!). it didn't go any quicker!

Taking the badges off mine has had the completely opposite effect!! I'm not left to my own devices, with noone sitting on my arse!!!
Amazing

Ollie

Ive left my GTi badges on, but now having the twin pipe Mk3 exhaust , it kinda sends a message of 'dont come near' to the local Paxo boys...
:D

would be an idea to get a fair few mk2's met up at some point though, Ollie :D

Yeah shall I set up a mk2 mini midlands meet feeler??
I might even have 3 mk2's to bring along if all goes to plan :D

Ollie

OllieL,

I have 2 I could bring straight off. I think with notice and a bit of planning it would be good - Get those feelers out there.. Where you thinking of a potential venue ?

as for saxo's...no other cars out there give it as large as they do. The other day a vtr went round the round about with some shady looking fellas in giving me funny looks as they drove past. when i was behind him he kept trying to leave me behind by putting his foot down but his exhaust was that big it was obvious everytime he was going to do it because the noise was so loud !

He was taught a harsh lesson as soon as we got to the dual carriage way. :funk:

Was gonna say about the Custom Code remap.... it's not a 20vT lol and Mork put you striaght on that anyway.

A decat will help...... so what about lossing bottom end torque it's not like the 16v has got that anyway. Way I look at it 16v lump needs to be rev'd to get anything from it and a decat will help at the higher range of the rev's to get it!!!

Will rev up much quicker to!

looks to be a minter mate

like everyone else has said, you'd be better off going down the De-Cat route and whacking a decent Cold Air feed to your filter, or something like a BMC thats completely enclosed so it takes nothing but cold air :D.

Sultan you better not sell :(

Ollie - if you organise a midlands mk2 meet i might make the mission up to get there, i'll need about 3-4months notice though

Dinky dave – I bow before your superior knowledge

Chrisdaman - thanks mate.

A decat it is then, got a quote of £90 fitted. is that good ?

yeah, £90 all in + vat prob..

think the sports cat quote was £120.....

ive seen mk3 golf ones on gaybay for £60 / £70 sofitting wont be that much.

the 5-0 seem abit funny on pressed plates espically around cannock (longford) little chavs with 58 Reg 1L french cars have them so i think its an easy excuse for the Po-Po to do pull them over. im even thinking about taking the pressed German plates off my Mk2 Golf and just have them if i go to a meet or show. as for wanting performance gains..

cam it, easy peasy

great example there mate

can I ask where you got this sticker from please?
