Ibiza 1.4 tdi reference sport problems

Hi all,

Need a bit of help, had my 58 reg 1.4 tdi for a few months now, it's currently in the garage getting a new power steering pump, but I've noticed that the seatbelt light dosnt light up when you don't have the belt on, and if the door isn't closed properly there's no light or buzzer, is there supposed to be? Would rather get it looked at whist I have a curtesy car

Any help would be appreciated!!

never noticed a seatbelt light
and no it doesn't have a door open sensor

there is only a buzzer if you leave your lights on and open the door

Thanks for this, just always thought there might be something wrong with it! Is the power steering pump a common problem? It used to kill the electrics in the car and it's taken them 5 days to find out what was wrong with it

The power steeing is automatically adjusted to how fast you are going, so when you are parking at night in a car park it is really noticeable that you lights dim slightly as the power steering uses a lot of electricity!

I was worried when I first got mine, but happens on all of them!

Oh it did that, but this cut the power steering, the light went on, and it died, took it to the dealer and they thought it was either the wiring loom or the dash panel, then finally settled on the pump!! From what I've read it dosnt seem to be a common failure it was 1 year old when i got it, only had 188 miles on the clock first owner was seat.

They have given me a mk 5 curtesy car, I quite like it!
