Ibiza 1.6Tdi cr

Hello all.

Just been reading on a couple of threads about the delay in the production of the 1.6Tdi cr Seat Ibiza, wondering if anybody on here can shed any more light on this. Have ordered an Ibiza 1.6Tdi cr sc in mid June, and was given a very sketchy 'er um possibly late Sept early Oct' delivery estimate due to a apparent August shutdown.

The four week factory shutdown in August is a regular annual holiday for SEAT, i believe.
I think that there has been a further delay due to unknown problems with the 1.6 TDI CR engine in the Ibiza.
Maybe a dealer on here can shed some light ?

it's a regular holiday for most manufacturing factories, it gives them time to shut down the whole factory and repair and replace the equipment etc.

it's a bit annoying the delay due to the engine, but i suppose it's better they've found the problem and taken steps to sort it before my cars built rather than have to recall it later =o)

Yeah was aware of the August shutdown, its the one thing that my local dealer was clear on.
But in some threads on here, people have been indicating that Seat have an issue with the 1.6Tdi cr engine and have halted production. It would be good if somebody on here could shed light on the facts as I bet my local dealer won't be very forthcoming if things are being pushed back as late as November.

Yeah, i can confirm delivery for an Ibiza 1.6 TDI CR will be round about mid to late Sept as production has been put back, i work for a SEAT dealer and have a few orders which will be due round about then.

hi, i ordered mine last weekend and it is not due till end of oct early nov due to the new engine! didnt say why? He said they would be getting demos in dealership in about a month? at listers coventry

Funny that , when i tried to order a Ibiza 1.6 TDI CR from this dealer (in June) they said they could not deliver untill end of September, early October (this was before this production delay was known) and now they will have a demo by the end of July!

Ordered the 1.6 CR tdi 1st of May and apparently delivery is still scheduled within the next fortnight. Would love to know the reason for the delay.

i think they placed orders for them a long time ago and only shortly starting to come through. A months time will be mid august not end of july chap
