Ibiza 1.9 TDI Sport instrument panel problem

Hi I've got a problem with my instrument panel on my Ibiza. I was driving back from Gatwick on my way home from holiday, I stopped in heavy traffic and turned my engine off, the instrument panel went blank but was still backlit. I tried turning the engine over and it took fine as usual but the immob cut in and stopped it after a second or so, I had to get to RAC to tow home. The engineer thought it was similar to a fault with the Audi A3 TDIs where the instrument panel goes pop and the immob seems to have a wobbly. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Also when I have taken diags they have all been fine but this time the engineer took them and he came up with 4-5 Cam-Bus faults.

Have you got 6 dials? If so it sounds like the common fault of dry joints, a re-solder of the rear should help.

Yeah it is a 6 dial, Ill whip it out and have a check of the joints.

Or replace it with FR dials getting them programmed up to your immobiliser
