Does anybody know anything about key programming on Seat Ibiza FR? (mk4 2008) Got a flip key cut, it's programmed to unlock/lock the doors but the guy can't program it to start the car, reckons "there's a cluster problem"? Wanted to avoid ripping the transponder out of the spare key which is why I got somebody in to program it. The car now says error on the dash, not tried disconnecting the battery to see if the error goes away as the stereo display is dead (after market) so will lose all radio stations.

Anybody around lancashire that can program it in? Really don't want to have to go to the dealers, they will probably turn me away given the ibiza never had a flip key. Hopefully the battery reset fixes the error on the dash :/.

Looks like he's used the wrong key code to program the keys to the car. It should normalise itself after a while.

Was the flip key a virgin unit or used?

Brand new flip key, it unlocks/locks the car perfect just can't get it programmed to start it.

I would assume so, he read it with his tool? Any idea how much it usually costs for somebody to get it properly.

I could do with finding somebody in Lancashire to sort it, don't fancy screwing something up.

Only issue you'll have is if he's tried to program the key chip to the cluster the chip may not work as they are one hit wonders, where in Lancashire?

Also, was it a professional?

In Preston, but can travel to get it done properly. Well, he's supposed to be a professional, not overly sure he had any idea what he was doing tbh!

Chances are the chip is done for if its been programmed incorrectly best bet would be to buy a new chip before taking it to a specalist to reprogram

Does anybody know if you can actually have 3 keys programmed into the car at the same time?
