Hi there,

I have a 2007 Seat Ibiza 1.4 85bhp and I've been having some problems with the central locking. If I press the lock button on the key once, it locks all the doors, press it twice to deadlock it, then it unlocks the passenger door but no other doors.

When unlocking, I press once on the key to unlock the drivers door, then if I pull the handle twice it'll open the passenger door. Otherwise I have to press the key 2-3 times to unlock the passenger door and 4-5 times to unlock the back passenger doors and boot.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Marler

Mines is the same, if the car is locked i need to press the open buttong a couple of time to open the passenger / boot.

By the way pressing the lock button twice is not deadlock, its locks the car with the alarm disabled, you only need to press the lock button once, at least thats what the book with mine says.

Faulty passenger door lock, well, faulty switch inside the lock.

Will require a replacement door lock.

Very common fault.

Also a note on pressing the key twice when locking. That also disables the deadlocks as well as the alarm. Just one press the lock, arm the alarm and deadlock the car.

I seem to remember a thread on here some time ago on 'How to fix a faulty door switch', which seemed pretty comprehensive. (and cheap!)
Later - I found a link to it. search for 'door switch' on this forum.

this happens on my car aswell! i was well confused when i didnt press the lock but my mate opened the passenger door as we got in! ill try and remember only to press it once im too used to my cooper s where u had to press it twice to lock and alarm it

Sorry to awake an old thread, but problem was solved randomly by itself after it came back from a service, I believe they disconnected the battery and it reset it all, well anyway sorted now

Same has happened again, I've only noticed that the interior light isn't coming on when opening the door so think it might the lock module?
