Hi guys,

Been considering going for the OEM Seat Ibiza spoiler but ridiculous quotes of £250 for the spoiler fitted and painted are putting me off. Now I know people have had there spoiler from Sere motors for around £94 and had it painted and fitted elsewhere.

My issue with that is I have a speed blue cupra and would be dubious of the paint matching from a 3rd party.

The i begin researching other options and came across this spoiler. Now I know it might look totally ridiculous and may require drilling in to the car but for some reason I am drawn to it!

So my options are:

a) Buy the OEM spoiler and pay for the paint/fitting either at Seat or 3rd party

b) Buy the OEM spoiler and get the spoiler wrapped in CF then fit myself.

c) Buy a seperate spoiler and fit it myself.

I am open to opinions on different spoilers (doesn't seem to be too many different ones out atm?) and what to do with my cupra!

OEM Spoiler all the way
find a decent sprayer who can colour match properly, or get it wrapped in carbon fibre, the choice is yours.
then fit it yourself to save on the pennies.

not sure really, that spoiler could potentially look amazing. Get someone to try photoshop it on or something.

think it looks a bit like the clio one, and that looks amazing on the clio i think

I say do the CF one to be different :p

That is my train of thought also. There is enough space on the standard lip (spoiler? lol) to drill the holes for it but I'm not sure whether it would ruin the sleek shape of the roof.

I looke at this guide here about how to fit the Clio 197/200 spoiler which looks like it would be very similar to the carbon one I posted earlier.

I love the look of the Clio spoiler also, looks mental!

Most dealers outsource their bodywork to a third party anyway.

True however in my experiences dealer approved body shops tend to do a better job but with the price tag to match. Maybe I just need to find a 3rd party that I am comfortable using.

Tbh with this spoiler idea I like the idea of the OEM but I wanted to do something different. Hence the CF "Clio-esque" idea.

I recently got mine done for £310 :S...was originally 290 but they ran out of CF and one roll costs them £400 so I had to put another £20 in to pay for what I needed...but all in all, its made my car look ALOT better and I'm really happy about it...this was done by my Seat dealer btw...I'd rather get it all matched up with my roof, same colour and same CF rather than 3rd party and risking it to be a bit different...but the choice is entirely upto you

Now I was all ready to totally pour scorn on the idea of a roof spoiler for the Ibiza. All I've seen up to now look like a Chav's wet dream....

However I'll now eat my hat and agree with Nightflight - that spoiler could actually look good on the back of your car....

The other option of getting the OEM spoiler wrapped in carbon viny would definitely be different and might work... However to be honest I'm veering towards the roof spoiler here, but definitely done in carbon wrap... Carbon would go great with Speed Blue IMO. NEVER THOUGHT I'D EVER HEAR MYSELF SAY THAT!!! LOL :p

If you plan to get the OEM spoiler, it would be hard for the dealer to wrap the whole thing in carbon because of the edges. The only way the dealer would suggest is to wrap the middle and leaving the tips painted...that was the problem for mine so therefore had to have the tips painted yellow
