Yeah the cactus we have is amazing at fuel with 80mpg easily achievable on a long run and I always knew whatever car I got next would never compete with that

That's right. Toledo IV was made in the Czech republic, but it's discontinued now I think.

still today Seat Alhambra, VW Sharan and VW T-Rock are built in the same factory in Portugal https://www.volkswagenautoeuropa.pt/

And I think that in martorelli they also build VW cars besides SEAT...

but, still, all the plastics, chassi, etc... are designed by SEAT, only when it comes to mechanic or electronics they use VW parts, and not every part, some are specifically developed for or by SEAT like the radio, headlights...
ther things for example the door panels, dashboard, side mirrors etc... have a completly different design between Polo and Seat. The platform VW cars share doesnt inlude those things

As you can see no VW symbol, only SEAT

and A LOT of other parts, more than you would think at first glance... but I believe they share knowldge within the group when designing parts specifically for a car.

And there are other parts that have variations according to the car, like the shock absorvers, but still considered VW parts, as they share the same caracteristics with small variations according to the car.
