Whilst I agree with "You can't polish a turd" I do think there are subtle things you can do to improve the appearance of our car, the so called "OEM+" look.
White LED's, better looking grill from the model up, lowered suspension, painted plastics, all make the car look better without looking obviously "chavved up"

Hehehehehe just tickles me the time and money some people invest in changing things on their cars no one else outside of a car forum would give a second glance to :p

Lol a bit OTT if you ask me, i havent spent much on the car at all and you say people outside a car forum wont give it a second glance, well thats funny because it gets lots of attention and loads like it.

I dont get what the big deal is with putting the accessory bumpers on and a grill, not like im dressing it up as anything else but wanted a sportier feel/luck to it and needed a 5 door due to having a baby.

Exactly, i think the JE one looks more chavvy! its a genuine kit that is there to give my car a sportier look and thats all lol not all of us can go out and buy the top models and as already said needed a 5 door for practical reasons

I never said the spoiler, in fact i prefer the spoiler! but the bumpers and skirts are what im on about mate as was in comparison with the accessory ones but again it is down to personal choice otherwise everyones would be the same

Phew!!!!!! Feeling better now heheheheheheehehhe. I know mate, I thik it looks good any way and your car looks great too.

Didnt even know about the JE spoiler until i already had mine, saying that they probably dont do a 5 door version anyway lol i do prefer the way it is, looks more OEM than the standard one haha

And cheers mate :)

I think the modding is for people like me and Loz (SC16v) and others who have the Sport model but feel it isn't quite sporty enough so make little changes.

Compared to the boc, its kinda standard.

Ok My 20p's worth

Each to their own springs to mind. As long as what is done is done properly then what is the problem? Its not like seeing, a car with a body kit held on with pop rivets and Duc tape, sprayed with a Halfords rattle can. Truly bog awful

As for what we are all doing to ours, well for me I think that SEAT were a tight fisted or shrewd ( you decide) and only half finishing the Bocanegra and Cupra models by not fitting the spoiler and skirts as standard to their top of the range models to finish them off properly. So you and me (Johnny punter) end up shelling out in the region of £400 quid to complete the job. Or going posh aftermarket like Jase and go JE designs. Which I suppose gives the scope for more choice. Either way if you are happy with what you do and it does not look chavtastic 'bangin bruv' then carry on tinkering. I hate the word 'Modding"

"you can't polish a turd"

So the Mk5 Ibiza is a turd! Just clear it up for me mate, is that all Mk5's or is turd status reserved for certain models?

Sticking a "rinsin" FR grill on a 1.4 Ibiza is just laughable to me or something similar.

So have a good laugh at me, I have a FR grill fitted.

But here's a thought for you. We are all individuals with individual tastes, so why would we all want identical out of the box cars. Answer we don't, some people add factory fit options and others alter the look of theirs to accomodate their personal preferences. Provided the owner of the car is happy with the look, why should anyone else care about it!

A final observation, how many people live in a house with identical consruction to the one next door. If so, how many people have identical decor to the house next door. It would be odd if you did.

Amen brother man. If we were all the same how boring would life be. Much as Boc gives me the arse, I have tinkered away with it since the day I got it. Its mine and its tweaked. Be it a 1.2 or a Boc or Cupra, its somebodies, it is theirs and its a new car.

These things cost over 10k new so they are not cheap and I would not refer to them as a 'Turd"I bleive Turdworld probably starts at £250 quid with a bent MOT , 3.5 lbs of filler, painted with rattle cans and hammerite, bald tyres, blowiing exhaust and a head gasket pissing oil

Now thats a turd!:D
