Ibiza tyre sizes. Anyone running 225/45r17?

Hi,

Anyone here happen to run 225/45r17 sized wheels on the mk5 Ibiza? Or does anyone know which is the max size? Wheels are 8" wide and the car is dropper -30mm and -40mm rear.

I have a stage3 with is38 hybrid on the 1.8tsi running around 380hp (still waiting for dyno) so looking into Pilot Cup2 for some traction, but they only come in 225/45r17.

The mrs has 215/40/17 87w on hers from factory. 10mm narrower but they’ve been fine for 6 odd years

Can you get Cup2 in 215/45/17 ? Its closer to the stock size and has been tested by a few members of this forum

I actually came to this conclusion also as I noticed that my winter tires are 215/45r17. So its tested that they wont rub and I found cup 2 tyres with that size.
