ICE and insurance

Do I have to tell them about my ICE incase my car gets stolen/broken into or will keeping the receipts be enough?

Im insured with directline and they say Ive got cover on car entertainment worth up to £1000.

:D

That will be £1000 of standard equipment probably if you read the T&C's. Insurance doesn't usually cover any aftermarket kit at all.

So if I have an accident and they feel like being nasty they could invalidate my insurance? :headhurt:

Directline dont allow mods, will my new aftermaket audio equipment be counted as a mod?

So with your car you tell your insurance about your aftermarket equipment? Do they charge extra?

Some do, some don't. Some insurers expect you to have mods and are pretty easy going - I'm with Noel Dazely and my remap didn't really make any odds. They thought I'd have more to 'declare'.

I was with Direct Line when I put alloys on my old car - then found out they just won't touch you if you're under 25 with mods. But I flogged them on fleabay and made a profit.

It's up to you. Yes you should tell them.

lol yeah some insurance company wont allow them unless your over 25! thats why i said it was a added extra not me fitting it ;) (on a 07 plate i can get away with this...lol) i would tell me course if are in a frontal accident then both side suspension arms will get nackard due to them being connected....and whatever else is connected to them..
