iClimate UI issues, dangerously unpractical while driving in rain?

I wanted to share some feedback (and concerns) about the iClimate feature on the Terramar's infotainment system. I’m attaching two screenshots for context.

The other day it was pouring rain and my windshield fogged up almost instantly. I was driving on the highway and couldn't pull over. There is an excellent defog function available in iClimate… but it's positioned on the second page, and the tap area is tiny, really tiny. Swiping doesn’t work on these controls, and trying to switch pages while driving felt unsafe and distracting. I honestly feared I might cause an accident.

Can others try this and confirm if it's the same on their cars? Is this a UI bug or poor design?

Honestly, I’m starting to miss my old Formentor even though it was from 2021, the infotainment was more responsive, the seats were better, and overall it just felt more refined. I’m also dealing with another issue: my wipers started juddering loudly. The car has less than 4,000 km, and I was told I have to wait until after August 8 just to have them replaced under warranty.

And you know what’s worse? I tried to find aftermarket replacements from Bosch, and apparently there are no compatible sets available: the driver's blade is 640 mm and the passenger's is 510 mm but Bosch doesn’t seem to offer that combo because TERRAMAR is not on their record. The rear blade is even trickier: it measures 29 cm, but all I can find is a 32 cm version. Nothing fits properly.

At this point, I’m genuinely considering selling the car before the end of the year. I’m sad to say it, but unless I’m just unlucky, this Cupra has been a big letdown compared to my last.

Defogging is same on all cars...but for me its not a big deal, cause I don't need it that often.

As for wiper blades, I still need to check the situation in my market...no replacement needed yet 😀

Yesterday I tried swiping these icons in iClimate and it works perfectly fine.

I agree that positioning that function on a second page is ridiculous so i tried to put it on the first but long pressing and dragging doesn't work.

@Marck; IMHO it’s madness having a function that’s likely to be used regularly buried on a second screen that’s difficult / dangerous to access to access while driving.

As an alternative, have you tried using the (quick) windscreen demist button to the left of the ‘CLIMA’ button below the infotainment screen - the one marked with the screen demist icon and ‘MAX’? That might defog your screen as quickly as - or almost as quickly - as the defogging function you’re having problems accessing, or at least provide an interim solution until you find out why the ‘swipe screen’ function isn’t working or how to perfect a suitable swipe technique.

hey @SRGTD thanks for your reply, Yes, of course I’ve tried it but activating that MAX defog button is like unleashing a storm inside the cabin. It’s really only useful when the windscreen is completely fogged up and you're not driving, not while you're already in motion. That’s precisely why iClimate was introduced: to offer a more subtle, non-intrusive, and usable anytime solution both in winter and summer. I used it frequently on my previous Formentor, where it was just one single, customized easy tap on the screen.

As I’ve said in another post, this new infotainment system is honestly a step ten times backwards compared to the older one. Long story short, if you haven’t noticed yet… I’m really not enjoying this car anymore and it has just 3,800 km on it. :-(
