Afternoon all!

I am currently fitting an AGU lump into my car as a project...I was originaly going to fit the Ko4 turbo, but am now looking at other options, mainly the IHI VF34.

Now this engine is going into a Mk1 Renault Clio (i know i know, but they are lightweight and handle **** hot) so as you can probably imagine its going to take some work, and the fit is VERY tight.

I know the Ko4 and standard manifold will fit, but it seems to tuck in nicely giving a little more room at the back!

Can anyone tell me how much more the IHI will stick out in relation to the Ko4 or even Ko3 and any available manifolds (most common ones used?)

I have seen images of the turbo's side by side, but its not just the physical size, its the amount it sticks out in comparison.

Cheers for any help! :)

There was that other bloke that did a 1.8T into a Clio - can't remember what turbo he used though

Cheers for your help folks!

The black Mk1 in question has a Ko4, it was my mates car, the guy who built it. he has since sold it on.

There is a matte black mk2 (which was originally orange) which is running an IHI.

I have been told about a Ko4 hybrid? by turbo dynamics that is capable of 300+bhp and is the same size as a Ko4. I've done some digging but anyone know anything?

I know the Ko4 fits with the standard manifold, but it literally only just fits, and is a squeeze to get the rad and I/C to fit up at the front which is why im concerned about space.

300hp ish would be plenty for the car as they only weigh about 900kg with a bit of weight removed.

I bought a used Ko4 the other week, and have since found out its fuked! So not to happy about that! eBay claim in process!
