after a nightmarish 14 months of owning a MINI cooper i'm 9/10th's of the way to rejoining the mk4 ibiza gang! :D

damn i miss that yellow car of mine!

in the process of buying a modded silver 08 plate FR TDI from a place in Cambridge, it's ben lowered and is on polished TT comps, smoked rear lights and painted rubstrips down the side, 38k miles.
ring any bells?

if so i expext it's probably got more mods, just wondering what!

Welcome back, maybe :funk:

We have owned a Cooper from new in 2006 and its never missed a beat, what went wrong with yours

my Cooper is a 51 reg, been a nightmare since day 1...new full exhaust, rear brakes seized so needed a new caliper and handbrake cables etc, that was £500 to fix, a bearing has gone underneath with wil cost about the same, it does 25mpg on a good day and needs £50 of oil every 6 weeks, it's a total money pit!

i love the car, it looks fantastic and drives beautifully, it's just costing me an absolute fortune!

It sounds like you've got a shagged one. The early ones were pretty bad (relatively speaking) and improved on the 02 plates.

We had a 52 reg Cooper from new and it was top notch, apart from the lack of a decent PD engine in it of course! Now the SD is available, I might have another look at one.

Yeah ours has been really good as well but only covered 11k miles so its early days. The missus loves it and chucks it about. I only wish it had a boot

i had a mini cooper 04 reg before i got my FR tdi, it was smart as fook. white with black viper stripes aero body kit black cooper s wheels. most ever managed was 34mpgs and it broke all the time.....
harmon kardon amplifier
alternator
electric headlight adjusters
horn (that broke)
steering colomn (common problem)
backbox rusted out so it blew all the time
i had 3 gearboxes! (covered under warranty)

i probably spent about 2 and a half grand just fixing the damn thing. so i got fed up n got my FR tdi which hasn't really cost me much at all and gets 55mpg all the time, is faster and cheaper to insure. Does look quite as smart though.

probably very biast as i am an original mini owner but the cooper should go to a scrappy and get back in an ibiza

Told you to get an FR or Cupra instead of the Cooper.

If the mileage is true on that then it is only just run in. If it has been run in gentle then it will not use burn oil.

REMAP, Cupra Bushes, AP Brakes, Cupra Intake, FMIC.......... you know it makes sense!
