it will really suprise people when they see you go then. a bigger engine isnt always better.
sometimes more power less weight. let me know how you get on. post some pics. will be good to see.
TBH £3,000 is not enough to get the R32 engine in and get more power out of it.
Best to spend the money on a good set of coilovers, KO3 hybrid, uprated exhaust manifold, uprated exhaust and good mapping.
Then you will have a very nice feeling car to surprise a few motors
IMHO If your going to do it properly do an r32 conversions 4wd and charged if not dont bother the cost will be ridiculous for something possibly slower than before and not really special unless you do the above which would make it one of a kind in the UK.
i'm lucky enough to own a v6 4motion and a LCR and believe me the 1.8T is going to be a lot easier to tune and get big power out of
i have looked into changing my 2.8 for the 3.2 R32 lump and tbh its not cost effective even though its a straight swap
you'd proably lbe cheaper going the Big Turbo and uprated internal route on your 1.8T bear in mind tuning a R32 is bloody expensive 300 brake is going to be thousands on top of the cost of a conversion
To be honest a maye of mine has a mk5 r32 and my stage 2 cupra r is quicker so as everyone else has said you'd be better spending the money on the cupra with the right mods.
only way to get power from an R32 is turbo or super charger the engine and your looking at 10k - 15k. with all the work involved. 260 is about max power you will get from an r32 engine with induction kit, full exhaust with 6 branch manifold de-cat and remap is pretty much all you can do to them engines.
big or hybrid turbo is the way forward with the 1.8t
