Well, I thought so.

Over the Christmas break we visited the outlaws in Sheffield and then drove up to see some friends in Leeds.

Round trip is about 350 miles - factor in that I had WifeNav, and that the M1 was stationary from junction 35-27 on the return leg, and again from Junction 14-9. I was impressed that I pulled into the petrol station having covered 367 miles on the tank, with approx 15-20 miles remaining (according to the computer - which means 5-10 really).

I had a couple of blats on the way up, but kept it fairly reserved on the way back (traffic and weather playing their part), so I reckon I could have touched 400 miles on a tank had I of played straight the whole journey, and not been sat stuck in traffic for almost an hour on the way back.

LC standard, loaded with Christmas gifts.

I nearly got 400 miles out of my LCR last year while driving up to Preston and back. Probably could have done it but chickened out.
This was with only filling the tank to just over 55 ltrs.

well thats probably a little over 32 mpg. so not that fantastic...

i have got just shy of 450 miles in my LCR before, i get approx 360 out of most tankfuls.
:)

:p Well I only usually manage 300-320 a tank, most of my mileage is stop start kinda stuff. I was pleased anyhoo! Plus hauling my 17st weight around must have an effect.

I guess having the air-con on for most of the journey played a part...

Can you remember which fuel you used?

Because i've had 349miles out of a tank of 95ron from Kent to Newcastle, which i thought was impressive enough.

Then filled up with V-power in Newcastle and did the same 349miles home but with 40 miles still in the tank(according to the computer) and can't say my driving was any different, in fact there was more traffic on the way home!

Pete.

Sorry to say this but i get 550 mile out of a tank:whistle:

Been there, done that, boring boring boring! So what am I doing tomorrow? Going to get rid of my oil burner and get another 20VT.

Why? Because unlike Penfold sitting in his TDi, eyes crossed like a chameleon cos he's trying to keep one eye on the trip computer and one on the rev counter, I want to have some fun and urgency over more than a 2000 rpm range.

So what if it's slightly more thirsty, V-Power 100 costs me 42p a litre over here. I've done the diesel thing more than once and believe me, nothing puts a grin on your face like the good old 20VT! :D

well i always use 95 ron and rarely get below 400miles to a tank due to traffic sitting between 40-50 most of my journey home

I got my worst ever the other day - i put high octane 97 ron from Texaco in, £35 pounds worth - at about 98p per liter iirc - only managed about 252 miles on it!!! gulp. Computer said 31.9 mpg and i drove for about 5 miles on 0 miles left in the tank lol

OH WHAT!! i think i must have a hole in my tank.... my last tank i did about 260 miles.... the one before i squezed 275 out of it!

Never been able to reach the 300 mile mark :(

But in my defence i live in Milton Keynes, so its a case of 70/80 > roundabout > 70/80 > roundabout every day!

I must travel over about 12 round abouts on my 8 mile drive to work everyday! Trust me its not good for fuel economy, brakes or tyres! BUT it is good fun :D
