Collision avoidance assistance

Has anyone noticed the collision avoidance assistance to be overly sensitive on the Terramar? On a few occasions now, especially in extremely slow moving traffic, maneuvering between cars or reverse parking it slams the brakes avoiding a collision that isn't there.

I maneuvered between a gap in traffic out of a junction and the brakes slammed on, I reversed into a car park space between 2 cars and it slams it's brakes on, yet I reversed into a bin (at slow speed and no damage) and it done nothing, sensors barely made a noise.

It seems it has a panic attack when the roads are busy and wants to alert and avoid anything it senses.

Other than that. I love the car, dark void colour is amazing, senheisser speakers are great. And will be adding some site merch to it soon.

Same here 😎
Especially sensitive during left turns or if pedestrians crossing.
Didn't find a way to adjust it btw...

It's the same across the VWG board. The systems are overly sensitive and the ability to adjust the settings have been removed.

Yes, same here. Just today it slammed the brakes when the car in front of me was turning right. I’ve got used to it but it scares me sometimes.

Dampness in foliage can play havoc on bends I find at times. You get more of a bounce back on the radar. I'm sure in the Ateca, the dealer quietly adjusted down the sensitivity with less false positives. Get none now apart from those hedges it doesn't like on damp days in the rain on bends but just the alarm, not the brakes as well. Early days it would pick up lorries turning in lorry parks off to the side 🫣.... hence why I reckon it was reprogrammed during a service or some clever re adjustment itself. You can only have so many false positives without the collision 💥.
