Hi guys,

I am at my wits end.....

I have a story too long to write here regarding this engine and I just want answers.

Long story short.... Cupra PD160 Engine died...

I have a reconditioned head, turbo, injectors and all the ancillaries.

I've been without a car for nearly 4 months while this whole saga has gone on.

What I want an answer to is....

If I get a PD150 engine, what would it take to get it up and running in my Cupra, using my existing turbo, injectors etc...?

ECU?
Wiring Loom?

Can this even be done?

If it can be done, what sort of power would it be making? Or would I have to get it mapped to make proper use of the bigger turbo, FMIC and injectors?

I need answers and I need them fast! GO!

Thanks in advance!

Ben

Its the same, should all bolt up and work absolutely fine, original ecu, loom etc.

When you ask about power.... Have you not had it mapped to suit the mods & bigger turbo? Impossible to give you a power output..... how long's a piece of string!? lol. Need to go to a decent custom TDI mapper who will extract the most that can be had from your setup

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply!

so the original PD160 ECU should work with the PD150 engine you mean?

No, I haven't actually got the PD150 engine yet, just asking if it could be used in the Cupra!

So basically it would be the PD150 block and head, oil pump etc, with the PD160 Turbo, injectors and intake.

The PD130 ASZ engines will bolt in. Just have to swap over the turbo and utilise your existing wiring and ECU.

Everything the else is the same - contrary to popular belief (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68606)

Be aware though that the PD150/PD160 engines use slightly stronger headbolts so I would recommend replacing them if you were to use a PD130 engine and remap with your PD160 turbo.
