In need of some advice!

Hey all!

Couple of issues, any help would be appreciated as I'm not great with all this stuff, just enjoy my Leon!

Firstly, does anybody know what bolt this is, and where I can get a replacement (and what tool to use when I do?)

You can see it's quite nicely rounded off there, and it's also very... very... loose. It makes a clicking noise like the door is about to fall off at any second. If anyone could point me in the right direction, would be greatly appreciated!

And now for the fun part... today my beautiful blue Leon FR failed it's MOT, a year after getting it on PCP.

The garage that I bought it off delayed me picking it up originally, as there was a warning light on the dashboard (airbag / passenger restraint light). They sent it to a Seat specialist, and they said "yep, it's all a-ok, just can't turn the light off, not sure why" (paraphrasing) but was all OK, and the garage passed the car's MOT and handed over the keys to me, even though the little yellow light has been there ever since I've had the car.
Today the same garage failed my MOT, due to that same light...
I went to get some new shoes for the car after the MOT also said that my front left tyre had a worse hairline than me, and was so bald Mystic Meg could see the future in it. The wicked bloke there was like "what's with the light on the dash?" and got his diagnostic tool out and showed me the error code: B100B1B

I'll be honest, I ain't got the foggiest when it comes to any of this, but I don't mind cracking out a spanner if I need to, I just don't want to get absolutely shafted.

Thanks in advance,
Tom!

1st question why did you accept a car with a warning light? I would never of taken the car with this issue,

that fault code is to do with the passenger airbag resistance being too high. Sound very expensive to fix

with it being high resistance maybe a loose plug on the back of the airbag, sounds like a nightmare and not one i would choose to play about with myself, basically a small bomb

Thanks for the reply Jase, Motordepot are a pretty big company, they sent it to a Seat specialist and they passed it on an MOT, and they just got one over on me I guess.

I just wanted my Smurf coloured Leon, and I'm not really all that clued up about cars, I kinda took it that it wasn't a huge issue because it passed the MOT and the specialist etc.

Completely dumb on my part, I admit, and the PCP has another year on it, so I feel like I'm about to get railed.

I would go back and park it infront of their showroom and get them to fix it. A year has passed now though so i would think they will deny all knowledge / say you broke it.

keep us updated on what the outcome is but i would expect a big bill if you have to stump up. May have to go VW specialist to help save a bit of money.

Quick google have a check of the wiring / plugs below the front seats, make sure they are plugged in correctly / no damage to wires.

high resistance is the code which would indicate open circuit / slack connection so maybe an ill fitting plug or been disconnected by someones feet in the inadvertantly in the rear footwell.

Once the open circuit issue is resolved, the fault will still appear on the dash until it is cleared with ODIS (manufacturer’s diagnostic tool), professional code reader or VCDS (or equivalent). The cheaper diagnostic tools will not clear this fault.

I would get a rounded bolt head removal set of eBay and any sundry items such as bolts and clips etc from TPS (Trade Parts Specialist). They are a specialist VW group genuine parts supplier that the main dealers use.
