Inside windscreen freezing up

Has anyone else found in the cold weather recently that their windscreen is frozen on the inside as well as the outside? Mrs T's has had this a couple of times but i've not seen it on any other car before. There's no obvious signs of moisture getting into the car.

Answered my own question, i've found an old thread from 2010, this seems a common problem. Will get a mini de humidifier, it looks tiny enough to sit in the car and point the blowers at face/feet level.

Just stick one on my dashboard when I get home from work, not had to wipe the inside of the windscreen since getting them (had to previously albeit only a few times)

Shouldn't happen, never had ice on the inside of any of my Ibiza. I did have it happen on a mk2 Leon and it ultimately turned out to have a water leak.

does she leave the aircon on all the time?

the dryer holds a fair amount of water and comes out when switched off

a good days driving with the aircon off and heating on high should dry it out

its also maybe worth trying directing the air vents at your feet when you park up at night. Make sure it's not set to the windscreen demist position.

I think that if you are regularly using the A/C to de-hum the car, you should switch it off a few miles before the end of your journey, and even demand full cooling to force air through the evaporator to warm it back up a bit as it should be "sub zero" prior to this and so will draw moisture out of its surroundings before quietly then letting this evaporate when you next use it, only for this moisture to condense out on the cold surfaces in the car - glassware being one of them.

Hey bosses I've had this before but strangely not lately what did you find on the site that was previously posted? I always thought I had a small area moisture was sneaking in

Yep I've got her to do what Big Col says, it works. She never uses a/c.

I do shift work so daily travel either very early to work or late home and had the same problem. I mainly do short journeys and always have the a/c (climate control on) which I don't think helps it. I got a couple of those dehumidifier bags off Amazon - Thomar branded and I've gone from scraping the inside of the windscreen leaving snow allover the dash to not even the slightest mist on there, even when the outside is iced or snowy. Amazing the difference its made

I only had this occasionally until last week I filled my boot up with firewood that was still covered in snow. Some of this melted into the carpet, and now every morning I've got a very pretty ice rink on the inside of my windscreen.

Given this, maybe there's a source of moisture somewhere inside your car?

Dehumidifier bags do a very good job and are very cheap!

Seen ice on the inside of our once. Do get a fair bit of condensation, thats starting to annoy me slightly (you forget about it over the summer). May pick up a couple of de-humidifer bags give them ago.
