Probably the difference between heated and non heated?

I've just been contacted by someone else at the same VW group dealer but from another town (guess they don't speak to each other haha) and been given price of £8.87. I'll be getting a key cap too at £9.40, otherwise wouldn't have left the house for 12p saving :D

The first guy must have given me the price for the heated one, even though I didn't mention what it was, purely part numbers exchanged.

Good there's a forum with knowledgable people like you to save people like me a few quid :)

I'm interested in doing this mod, and was looking at mine today when filling the screen wash bottle. On mine their appears to be a wire each side of the water tube, underneath the fabric wrap. Does this mean I have heated jets? Mine is an early(ish) build car, with the headlight washers so I'm wondering if it actually has the winter pack minus the heated seats.

I've checked mine and I do not have wires by the water tube. To be sure and save yourself £££ just follow the instructions, remove the jet under the bonnet and look at the underneath of the jet. There is a heating element which looks like a block of plastic which is not present on the non heated version in my pics.

Followed the link for these and on receipt fitted in no time, well ok,a couple of minutes each and found they needed a quick tweak with the 2mm key to lift the spray up the screen slightly, great result. No wires to mine either.
Thanks for the info.,
cmcc.

Thanks for another very easy to follow guide Dephead

I was able to fit my heated washers today during my lunch break. It really is a very straight forward job even with heated washers, see pic below of my original washer, simply unclip both connectors and connect to the new one :D

Great stuff AJ. Glad to be of help.

Did you need to adjust them and did you get a great price?

I paid £43 inc VAT for the pair, bought it from my local TPS centre (I had to ask them if they could do a discount for buying 2 to get it at that price) I was originally quoted £49.50 for them both :D

I did try them briefly on my way back to work and the spray did seem a tad low. I will try them again on the motorway on the way home tonight and if it doesn't improve at higher speeds I will adjust them slightly I think.

Cheers

Not sure by how much, sorry remember Clockwise is down / anticlockwise is up.

If you are not sure just pop it out again and watch what happens as you turn the allen screw. You'll see it reaches a maximum and there is a slight tightening. I guess if you were Captain America and kept turning you'd strip the thread. Be gentle like Thor

Lol thanks for the tip, I managed to adjust them higher (you're right anti-clockwise is to raise them) but need to fine tune it as the spray was going onto the roof a little.

Something interesting to note, I had to use a Torx 10 bit to adjust mine in the end. I started of using the Allen key which kind of worked to start with then stopped working completely and I thought I had stripped the thread. I had to remove the washer and looked at the screw again and could make out it was a Torx bit, maybe they use the Torx bit for the heated washers?

Interesting. Or maybe it's an updated part. Torx are better than Allen Keys, which are rarely used now except for legacy bolts

Maybe the part has a bearing on the screw head dephead, Aj got official ones with the 'r' 'l' on them, a few folk, like myself, bought from the Skoda eBay link which were different in appearance, just a thought

Cant say for other 2014 models. However, my ST FR has these fitted from the factory.

You struck lucky then. I picked up my new ST yesterday (built on the 10th March) and it has the pistol version.

I panicked when I just saw your response though as I already have the fans on order.
