no it is not as streight forward as that, first of all, you must fine the right ic to remove, once you have you have to remove it by desoldered it (taking care if its double sided print) or if you are luck it might be in a socket (my guess would be no it would be soldered in) once you have removed it (noting which way round it went) its just a case of refitted the new one.
I would say the fact you have to ask all of these questions you are not up to the job, not being funny but I have seen it so many times at work where people have had a go because "how hard could it be!" and realy F$%ked things up.
yeah but to be honest I find EEproms not to bad for es damage, its mirco's that I have a real problem with, if you could see my draw of 24c16's at work you would have a fit
