hmm, decisions decisions decisions, i know there are a few of us with mk2 cupras and are pretty young like 20ish whats everyone paying these days and what you doing Fully Comp or Third Party, fire and theft? is it really worth fully comping it?

im turning 21 week after next, got 2 years NCB and 3 and half years drive experience and im looking at pretty silly money for fully comp and just under £1000 for TPFT ...and thats not paying monthly!

I wouldn't insure fully comp if its going to be stupid money, you will probably be paying more than what the car is worth. £1k does seem expensive to me, mind you mine is only £300 :bleh: Have you tried Greenlight?? They are pretty good apparently plus they will give you discount for being a member here.

it's worth paying 'a bit' extra for FC for the glass cover - when my car's move I tend to go through a windscreen per year - which are ~£250, so if FC is about £200/yr more, I'll pay it.

then again when my valver was last up for renewal FC was only £257 anyway it was a no brainer.

I think when I got it when I was 23ish it was about £600. It's all about risk, and at 20 it's a big one.

tried adrian flux?

£1000 sounds expensive for TPFT, i got a quote of £1150 on a mk3 cupra from flux, and i'm 20, 2years NC, 2years driving experiance, a 30day ban and 3 points on my licence

those qoutes are all really expensive!!! i am 20, got 6 points(both for speeding on public road) 1 year ncb and my girlfriend is 19 with no points and 1 year ncb also, we are getting qoutes off around £750 fully comp, and i am the main driver!!!!

live in the centre off aberdeen as well!!! so it cant be that low risk!!!!

but in answer to your question, i always go fully comp on cars as i lost £4000 worth off car wen i was third party!!! i smashed it and that was that, £4000 gone, not a penny to get a new car!!!!

always worth it in my opinion

24 and paying £720 fully comp

Bear in mind that speeding points don't really count for much with insurance companies anymore since good drivers are being caught out only doing a few miles an hour over the limit.

About bloody time too!

From my personal experience its only a little bit more to go Fully comp. Or in my brothers case, cheaper to fully comp. Im paying £700 this year with 2 years ncb and i live in birmingham so high risk area.
Try adrian flux, they're good and you get discount for being a member on here.

Like m0rk said, the glass cover makes it all worth while. If the rear windscreen breaks, it was nearer £350, or £50 excess with FC, get the excess back if it's criminal damage and you send the police statement to the insurer.

I'm with Elephant, got my 8v Cupra at 22 with zero no claims as I'd been on my parents policy, £800ish. I know it varies for everyone depending on area etc (you're near me anyway), and 16v was a couple of hundred more if I remember correctly. Worth it for piece of mind, it'll reduce by a sizeable amount next year, or do a 10month accelerator like me if you're stretched.

How do you all get these good prices for a valver??

I cant get anything less than £1000 fully comp.

Maybe something to do with my area being a 'high risk' area due to idiots, sorry people my age writing off cars left, right and centre. And most of them were in my year at school!

If possible put a parent on as an extra driver. Mine £370 FC, 2.0ltr 16v, 31 yrs old, 8 yrs NCB. With my partner (roughly same details) on as a named driver it goes down by about £70. Stupid really because an extra driver has got to be more of a risk + she wont even drive mine. :D Winning all round.

My price is for TPFT not fully comp. Basically in my eyes I see it as that if I crash it, it was probably my fault for driving like a plank and so I deserve it and it would be lesson learned .................the hard way, because I wouldn't get any money for it. In a way it makes me even more careful not to stack it.

#touches wood and hopes he doesn't crash it before selling it#
