Just wanna thank everyone for their responses in this thread, I've gone with Brentacre and saved an absolute fortune on my annual premium, nearly 50%. I found their customer service very impressive.

Cheers guys yet again more great advice!

Glad you got a good deal! Everyone I've told about them have gone with them! I should get commission lol. :)

Well I rang brentcare today. 31 yrs old , car garaged, all mods declared , and 5k miles a year. 4 yrs ncb mirrored off my van £898.99 !!! That's only £100 less then not declaring anything with the bigger named companies . Crime rate seems low where I am, so what's gone wrong?

What's going wrong, from what I read of your comment, you have now declared mods and didn't previously. If you do with bigger companies your premium would shoot up and then you would see the massive drop in price.

That was what I was thinking! Declaring with big companies was coming out at £1280 for me as cheapest. Declaring with Brentacre was just short of £600! And I still get to use my no claims on my other car that's due for renewal as Brentacre mirrored myn so I can still insure my other car cheaply. Bargain I think!

Defianantly get a quaote from Brentacre just give them a call http://www.brentacre.co.uk/

I am 25, 4 years NCD, I have a LCR 225, all mods declared. With this insurance company they charge you on BHP not mods. Im covered upto 280bhp and pay £570 fully comp a year!

I can add literally any modifiaction to my car and it wont cost me anymore on my premium unless it increases power to over my 280bhp im paying for. Any cosmetics, splitters, audio, wheels etc are all free just have to let them know its on there and can add at anytime.

Also my NCD is on another car and they mirrored them.. As in they have put I have 4 years no claims on my policy even though they are actually on another car i own. All I had to do is prove I had them with my other insurer, result!

Top service and excellent prices, my fully comp covers the lot aswel, windscreen, keycare, drive other cars etc.

Who are their under writers?

Have been with elephant for over 10 years and had 3 cars in that time, i have exhaust and coilovers and air filter declared on an 03 lcr and they have beaten every qoute by other other companys i have tried. The funny thing is i have never told them about other qoutes i have had they seem to beat evry one with just there new renewal price i pay something like £560 with full no claims and i am 45.

Post code lottery plays a big part in your premiums look on line for the list of post codes and how it affects you prices.

I see, I pay £580 on a 04LCR, mods listed in my signature below and im only 25 with 4 years NCB with Brentacre. My no claims are on my other car aswel, they just mirrored them onto my new policy so I get to keep my NCB on my clio. My postcode is just an average one i suppose. Im insured upto 280bhp aswel.

i agree that your best off ringing at the end of the month. i got a price from confused.com and the company who provided me with the best quote then rang me.

the guy on the phone said as it was the last day of the month he would see if he could get it any cheaper for me, ten seconds later he cam back on the line and knocked off 400 quid!

im 20 paying 1260 on a 51 plate lcr.

My insurance on my vectra was 1100 a year 111 a month on the cupra r it went up to 219 for the last 8 months. I have got points tho and a dd from about 5 years ago. London prices are a joke if I was still living in Kent at my old house it was a 1000 a year cheaper. Oh and I'm 30 with 5 years ncb

Im 26, driving 8 years, 3 years no claims ( due to when i was younger never used to keep insurance policies going) no other accidents/convictions, and im paying £120 a month on this leon cupra 180, okay thats fully comp, with windscreen cover, zero excess and the works breakdown cover, but still was only paying £70 on a Focus, think its just a joke in general each year its either the same or it goes up, never down !
