Intercooler Pipe Routing

Hi All

I'm wanting to re-route my intercooler piping in the engine bay as it sligtly catches on the strut brace, now I partially know what I want to do with this but my lack of mathematical skills restricts me.

Here is how my engine bay stands:

Yes that's a lot of shiz

Here is an example of how I want to route my right hand side piping:

Obviously that's not complete either but you get the jist. Now my problem is not the straight pipe, it's the pipes that lead to the turbo, I'm not too sure I like the above method so I have searched the good pages of eBay and found some various types of intercooler pipe bends etc that may look far better, tidier. Looks however are not important, I just want some in-put as which would be best.

Can ou not just cut the piece of the turbo at a slight angle to prevent it coming up so high?
If you want to dolike the other pick you'll need to get an i/c piping kit and have a DV port welded on.
I think its easier to adjust what you have than start from scratch.
My I/c should be here from the US soon and that will be completely different to OE route but requires MAP sensor boss and DV ports welding on to suit

Hi mate, would I not have to remove the turbo to do that? I mean all the bits of metal while cutting could get in to the piping? I know what your saying about adjusting the current piping, believe me I have tried, what you see above is like a 5th/6th attempt! and it's getting a bit frustrating stripping everything apart and putting it back together again. If I loose the strut brace it's fine. I have seen custom made strut braces that are raised higher, and ready made ones like the ones OMP makes for the Ibiza.

In reference to the welding, that's not an issue, I've sourced a few good aluminium welders in Brum, and I can always chop/shop the existing ports from the existing IC pipes for the new IC routing.

Here's some more examples i've saved over the last year to give me an idea of what I can do:

This ones a FMIC set-up designed for the Audi A3 but fits pretty much all K03/S 18.T lumps:

It curves around the engine cover which is cool, but I need that space

Here's a custom set-up:

This by far is my favourite route, BUT i'd still want more space:

.

The above is Adam's car, former member, well former LC owner. See now that 'looks good' but wouldn't serve a purpose for me, but Adam did have the right idea.

I still prefer the straight pipe route, it's just the turbo side of things get complicated, going around the TIP etc, getting in the way of a couple of boost hoses (easy enough to sort out)

What i meant was remove the first pipe that comes off the turbo and trim the bottom down a bit, this means the rise shouldnt be so high.
The second pipe can be rotated to meet this being sat lower hence clearing the brace.
Or rotate first pipe to come over cam cover a bit, remove second and make a joining piece, this makes a straight diagonal run towards the corner of the car

Bro, cant you put a couple of washers under the fixing bolts for the strut brace to raise it above the pipe some more, stack some washers up or get some thick washers made up out of Aluminium? Wouldnt cost much either.
