hi guys which is the best fmic to go for on a mark 1 cupra r

You have various mate. For as long as I can remember the Forge ones are the best, but I recently forgot just how pricy they are. Thing is they are pricy for a good reason ie quality and figment. They are designed for the car. You have the normal uprated one or the 'big race' one if your chasing big power.

Then TX Autosport do reasonably good ones and they are around £349. Not as big as the forge, half the price and some fellow forum members with this cooler achieve good torque and bhp figures.

Or the latest AmD Airtec FMIC. Which is £475 or £600 fitted, seems a good one. Rated to 400-450 bhp I think, but I will never be chasing those figures. A nice 300 with 300 torque is fine for me, hense my recent purchase of the TX.

Nice one mate :) is the tx one u have easy to fit or need modifications?

Do I need the upper and lower boost hoses with this kit or are they supplied?

Iam hearing so many different requirements for items needed for a stage 2 map what are your suggestions if poss?

Nice one mate :) is the tx one u have easy to fit or need modifications?

Still not fitted but everything is there it seems.

For stage 2 all you need is a nice new panel filter or open cone filter, full turbo back exhaust and maybe a 007p.

The intercooler isn't a stage 2 requirement but folks uprate it for a happier engine. Get any form of better TIP. I had the Forge item for years and with that alone I heard more DV dump, more whoosh etc. I have the 3" TIP now but that's unfitted ATM but according to folks this is a lot better than Forge's item.

Although don't knock the Forge. I still made 281 bhp with it.

Lol I'm still on standard exhaust and SMICs. Love to think how my car will act on a stage 2!

All I had/have was:

- debaffled charge pipe
- open one and heat shield
- 80 mm cold air feed
- N249 bypass
- forge TIP
- cleaned throttle body/ throttle alignment
- engine flush
- good fuel.

Now I have inter cooler and new SFS TIP plus twin cold air feeds and forthcoming exhaust system. Should easily see 300.
