Has anyone removed the A,B and C pillars in a 1.4 se copa 2012 ibiza?? Rears look simple enough but not so much for pillar A and B. Having my headcloth retrimmed to black suede and wanting the pillars matching ( as my overalls get the white plastics and headcloth dirty everyday ! ) Suddenly got a vision of panels going pop and bang and clips flying off in all directions ....

A pillar is a bugga, you have to get a screw driver in at the top pull it away slightly and rip it off, you will need some trim clips, B pillar is ply from the side at the middle bit where the trims split unhook the top part and pull off the not quite sure about the bottom part

Thought the A pillar would be quite a pain just looking at it, wasn't actually sure if it would be as easy as pulling off. Any ideas on where you would get the clips from? And thanks for the other info !

It's a pain to put back on, there might be abit in the middle where the little glass that you have to take out I can't remember, if you don't put it back on properly it bulges out

Most of it you can get off with a negative screw driver tbh maybe a few T20 to take the bottom B post bit off

A pillar is only a pain to get back in. Push it in forward first.
B pillar is easy. With a wide trim tool slot it behind and push out to pop it off then work down.
Haven't removed the rear pillar. Cant imagine it being too hard though.

I'll do it tomorrow on my lunch break, wont be putting it back on though for a week or 2 but will be sure to upload photographs of it. Also need to check my radio wiring for my aerial, cant seem to get a decent signal anywhere except radio 1, its still under warranty but its an inconvenience putting it into the dealer for the day and then having to go back again

It is a pain mine did that they fitted a booster in the end, I couldn't get any local radios stations and even radio one was a bit dodgy

I was reading a thread on another forum and some technicians were putting it down to poor bee-sting stubby aerials ?? But its getting to the point I wont even listen to the radio as it's doing my head in, think I'll just need to get it booked in and have it sorted !

Yeah could be a dodgy unit, if you got the roof lining off you could see about fitting a fin Ariel instead

Didnt even cross my mind, might even give it to the seat dealer with everything off it in the hope to speed up the process as I did phone up to enquire about it incase there was some sort of common fault / recall etc but the woman at the desk gave me the usual oh we'll have to have it the full day theres this that and the next thing to check

Just ring up as to talk to a technician and ask about the signal loss TPI, they should have a solution made for it already, some are fit booster, others are replace stereo or replace Ariel, but as it's under warranty may as well get it in while you can

Yeah I'll need to give them a call, how is your radio since they fitted that booster? Never really payed much attention to the radio on the test drive but I've been pretty disappointed with it, also lags a lot if an MP3 CD is inserted, more than 30 songs on it and your waiting about 2 minutes to switch tracks

Do you have the double din stereo or the new style single one? Mine has been working fine since they put the booster on get a lot more channels than I used to, only down side is I pick up some right rubbish from local stations

The single one, been thinking about changin the headunit for a while but will need to see the outcome of this problem first, wondering if I could pay the difference from the single to double din unit seat have for the ibiza if it is the headunit at fault

Still not got round to phoning Seat in regards to the radio ....
Although I did get the A Pillars off no problem and B Pillars are coming off tomorrow, hit a snag on the sun visors though, got the actual sun visor its self off but the plastic square that it clips into doesn't seem to have a bolt holding it on and isn't for budging, only thing getting in the way of dropping the headcloth atm.
