Hi guys,

Am I right in thinking that the Ibiza MK5 and Polo MK8 share the same platform?
I.e will MK5 Ibiza seats bolt straight into a MK8 polo

If so are the platforms the same for the MK4 ibiza?

I know for sure that mk4 and mk5 Ibiza seats are interchangable.
I think I read that Audi A1 seat also fit, so it would make sense that the new Polo interior would also be interchangable with the rest of the PQ24/5 cars.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly who can confirm for sure.

Do you know what MK the newest polo is?
Doing some research I see its a MK8 but wikipedia seems to thin It's a MK 5

I think most people would call it a mk8 Polo. According to Wikipedia the current Ibiza is only the mk4! The europeans are a bit weird and don't consider the mk3 to be a new model, but a mk2 facelift, and they've been out of sync ever since!

Generally if you refer to the new Polo as the 6R Polo and the new Ibiza as the 6J Ibiza (especially when searching on ebay), then you can't go wrong!

Yeah the MKs are confusing as officially the facelifts don't count but a lot of owners clubs do count them

In answer to your question, based on what I've read seats between PQ24 and PQ25 cars do appear to be interchangeable so anything from a 1999 Fabia up to a 2012 A1 use the same mounting. Couple of people on the MK4 section on here have purchased new Ibiza and A1 Sport seats which fitted without issue.
