i just got this error this morning (internal control module eeprom error p1640 intermittent) does anyone know what it is ..i have read that i need to replace the ecu ... my seat is 2001 ayp engine no and has apr chip aswell can someone help

It normally points to a problem with the ECU, but you should try clearing the fault, and see if it reoccurs.

Sometimes seen when water has got into the ECU, if you can you could try storing the ECU in a dry place over night, to dry it out.

i have just reset the fault and took it for a spin it still drives ok still getting 15 psi boost and no fault has returned yet ,will have a look to see if there is water around the ecu , and hope for the best thanks

Good Luck with it mate, you should be ok, but this has occured to other people previously.

Worst case scenario is a new ECU, approx £600 -£700 from a dealer, or £200 to £250 second hand.
