Just wondering what Seat will use to wriggle out of doing warranty work.

Have fitted HID's and (tasteful) tints. Something tells me when I take it in for a service that they are not gonna be happy about the HID's.

what warranty work do you need doing?

All you've invalidated is your light bulbs & glass....

I'd be most appreciated if you would let me know what they actually say/do about your Hids, before I actually decide to have these installed myself. This is the main reason I have not installed them myself.

Thankyou

Nothing needs doing. Was wondering just in case it ever does.

Was gonna get brembo's or similr for the brakes. I suppose that will probably invalidate a whole load of stuff too.

at the end of the day it depends on the dealer. Some will try to wrangle their way out of a warranty repair even if you have no modifications. While some will see the modification as invalidating only that part you have modified. for example, if you modified your suspension, they will still repair the engine under warranty. tbh it's the lucky of the draw with regards to dealers.

Dealers don't always take a logical and intelligent view of modifications with respect to warranty work.

I like to think I'm a measured kind of bloke, but a 'discussion' with a certain Audi dealer was concluded with them telling me they didn't want to work on my car again as it had a Forge DV!!!

That fortunately was an isolated example from a dealership who had too many company cars on his books to care about private 'S' car customers. There is no logic or reason so you take your chances and hope they're in a good mood on the day you rock up!

had the dealer check the headlight alignment on mine after id fitted the HIDs when it went in to have some warranty work done. All they said when it was ready was "have you fitted a different type of bulb?" and charged a couple of quid for the alignment. No issues at all.

We have a winner!

What dealer did you go to, cos thats the one thats gonna service mine now.

If it was me I wouldnt let seat service my car, and if I ever needed warranty work needing doing I would just remove the mods before hand!

its all down to how good your dealer is my dealer has never mentioned my modifications
and openly in courages them but usually the dealer rule is if the warranty issue is directly
caused by a mod ie large wheels and your wheel bearing goes then its down to you all the rest of car is covered which has been modded
