Hi all

Newly purchased a seat ibiza cupra 10 plate.. Now it came with the seat docking adapter with the car for an iPod/iPhone.. I have the iPhone 5 now I have bought an adapter so it fits the original docking adapter but it won't play anything.. It shows it's connected on the phone but no media on the CD player.. Anyone for and iPhone 5 who has managed to make them work with there CD player?

Thanks

Have you tested the connection with an iphone/ipod with the older docking port? It should work fine with your 5 with the official apple adaptor.

oops. i bought a cheap chinese one of these last night for the same purpose. looks like it'll be a case of buy cheap buy twice.

I did the same mate, but i phoned the customer service line in the box, and moaned at them about a £700 phone and not wishing to pay £25 quid for an adapter so i can use it! they sent me a free one!

If you are within returning time of the phone i'd give it a go.

hmmm, i just got it a couple of weeks ago, i'm on contract with o2 though, might be worth a try i suppose

Has anyone actually tried the iPhone 5 with the Seat Y cable and Apple lightning adaptor? Wondered if it worked as I was planning to upgrade to an iPhone 5 at some point in the future.

i bought a lightning adapter yesterday mate. i've not tried in my car yet though. i'm going out in a bit though so i'll give it a go and report back with my findings

with the lightning adapter it seemed to be working fine, but then i stopped the car, then when i started it up again and tried to select "ipod" on the head unit, it came up with "device error"

"Device Error" is a fairly common occurrence on mine using my iPhone 4S and the standard cable. Probably not related the lightning adapter.

I get device error too with my iPod classic and the standard cable, i think it's just a crappy system :(

The ipod connection is much better on my 2012 facelift FR than it was on my 2010 Ibiza. On the 2010 model the radio screen often didn't update to the playing track but it works more or less perfectly on the 2012.

Can now confirm the iPhone 5 works fine using the Seat ipod dock USB cable and Apple lightning adapter.
