Hi,

I bought my car a couple of month ago with 41,300 on the clock, I am now just under 45k and thinking about getting a remap. With the fact this car has already done 45k will the remap have any detrimental effects on the engine?

Also another quick question, if I was to get a remap and then decided to add an induction kit etc would I have to have the map adjusted to take this into account and would that usually cost extra as well?

Thanks for any advice!

Cheers,
Paul

EDIT: Forgot to add it's a 56 plate Leon FR TFSI if that helps!

Any place that does a remap will check the car over and they will say if the car is ok to go through with it. If not they could just remap it take your money and let u go do damage, when i got my corsa vxr remaped they checked my car over and they were happy with it.

45k is still a spring chicken.
People are mapping their cars at 80 and 90k
I put revo on my last car at 40k and it highlighted the weakness in the clutch within 3k

Thanks Kev helps a lot :) Did you replace the clutch then? If so did you uprate it or just new OEM? I'm loving it as it is at the minute but as you know we always seek more power haha

I put a Sachs uprated clutch in that I bought on a group buy for £460 and it was great so great I went stage 2 revo.
After that I traded in and bought my cupra R always chasing more power.
It gets addictive.

will give it a whole new lease of life
Pick a respected mapper who will ensure you have no issues before he puts it on (full diagnostic and rolling road) :)

Haha thanks a lot everyone, made the decision a hell of a lot easier :) Now to get under the car and fit that rev d valve tomorrow then book up for remap.... Revo, APR or P-Torque... Decisions, decisions, decisions!! lol

92k when I had my FR mapped, clutch gave up 3 days later but gave the engine a new lease of life. Feels best its been at the mo'. First track day in 2wks, time to see what it can really do!:D

Mapped mine at 71k middle of last year. Everything's working fine at the moment clutch etc. hopefully it will stay like that.

I will prob be looking to map mine at circa 65k this year. Cant wait.

Not looking forward to the clutch problems tho, and doubt I can afford a upgrade on the budget I now have :(

Would a new OEM be ok to fit?
