Is my clutch slipping badly or is this something else

I've noticed some hesitation on my car now, WOT in 6th gear on the motorway to work, I noticed the revs go up quickly to 4000, but..... once they reach 4000 they bounce of it or on to it? and work there way up

The engine note goes higher but speed doesn't build up as good as it did before

Could this be my clutch slipping or something else like coilpacks going ?

Car's doing something similar in 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc

If it is my clutch, what replacement kit should I get, a TDI clutch ?

My clutch went on my old Audi. I would be driving along the M1 at about 65mph when I put my foot down the revs would jump up but then after a few seconds stabilize. So from my experience yours sounds like clutch mate. But I am no expert :)

hehe no suggestion on clutch kit for you - sorry :)

Mo, from your description, does seem to fit the symptoms of a slipping clutch... revs increasing but not speed (well, not at the same rate) seems ominous. If it was a coilpack then I would have thought that would bring hesitation or a flat spot instead.

Defo Clutch slip. Will not last long, before you have no drive at all, it will be toast. You will then need towing. get it sorted ASAP.

Mine has been slipping for months, in fact now it's warmer and my torque has dropped a bit it has almost stopped. No panic.

mines been doing this for ages mate... been advised that the clutch is on the way out...as long as you dont boot it around the clutch should last for a fair while yet... giving you time to sort out a clutch kit and DMF :(

let me know what you go for mate, as i will end up getting the same ready for stage 2 no doubt!

I had a feeling it was something bad

I've read vaguely that we can use a cupra TDI PD150 ? clutch & flywheel, is this true and is this a good upgrade ?

i have read various possible upgrades... even to the LCR clutch and flywheel.

I would assume either would be good as they hold higher torque figures... but have yet to find someone in the "know" to confirm.
