Is my coil pack on its say out?

Every now and then I when i start my car i get a kind of eggy smell coming through the vents it doesnt last too long just wondered if its a start?

I've read lots of threads about bad smells coming from the climate control system. Usually caused by bacteria in the system .... think you can get anti baterial "smoke bombs" you let off in the car and it kills all the little critters in the system ... someone mentions Halfords?!

I had my aircon regassed at Tyre Sales [owned by Kwik Fit so they probably do it too] ... for an extra tenner they will do the bug kill for you. £45 all in I paid.

sounds like the aircon to me too, it can get very damp...

trust me, when the coilpack goes, you'll fcuking know it mate

In my ibiza I never get this! The only eggy smells I've ever had coming from cars is when the wrong type of fuel has been put in. Saying this in my g/f 206 i get this and its definately not fuel and the smell is in likeness to that of bacteria so if you find out what it is I would be very grateful of the infiormation!!

if your coil pack is on its way out, you'll be able to tell by looking at it.. goes a rusty colour... just replaced 2 of mine.. 1 was gone, 1 was going..
