I have had a remap and instead of getting a full uprated clutch kit fitted i was going to just get a uprated Helix friction disc from Allards as a few other people have done this and it seems to do the job rather then getting a full uprated clutch kit.

But i enquired at a garage about fitting it and the bloke said he would strongly advise me against fitting just a uprated friction disc because if you use a uprated friciton disc with the standard cover plate and dual mass flywheel then the uprated friction disc would just overheat and explode.

Has anyone else heard of this happening?

well i had my clutch uprated and they said the same i should uprated my flywheel to, to cope with extra power and becasue it had done 63k i might as well seeing as its all coming off anyway

did you get a full uprated clutch kit or do you just have the uprated friction disc fitted?

full uprated mate although mine is petrol but im sure same rules apply
