does the mrk3 come standard with immobiliser and i tryed the spare key as well is there anythink im missing out on wat could be making the immobiliser not deactivate. they did change the cambelt but then they tryed telling me it had bent the valves thats why it aint started when they tryed it after they changed it. could it be that they fitted the cambelt wrong causing the valves being bent. im not 4 shure if thats the case also to be honest

please stop the text talk! its a public forum and it is very difficult to understand what you are writing.

also if you put the key in the ignition and try start the car, will it start then die? or does it just not start ?

i would check:
spark plugs
HT leads
(not sure if the 1.4 has a dizzy or coilpack) but check that.

when you next try and start the car.. lift up your drivers back seat and then jump in the back, turn the key so the ignition lights are on and see if you can hear the fuel pump whirr, (could be a fuel pump issue?)

1.4 doesnt have an immob, so unless its got an aftermarket one it wont be that. sounds a bit concerning if theyre messing about with the cambelt and telling you the valves are bent!! if the valves were bent then when you crank it the engine would turn over faster and easier than normal and not sound like its even trying to start, is it doing that?

WRONG!:banned:

1.4 DO HAVE IMMOB'S.

take the blade part off the key body and you will see a small rectangle peice of plastic, in this is a little glass tube. i dare you to throw it away. (normal / sensible people do not do this!)

if you remove that little glass tube which is your immob chip, your car will no longer start :).

have fun sonic

hmmm well mine doesnt... i can drive it just fine if i seperate the blade from the fob!

the only electronic bits my key fob controlls is the remote central locking, ive got ALL the VAG wiring diagrams for the ECU and cluster etc and theres no immob. bits in there so :p

so why dont you try that :banned:

did i say it was in the main fob NO, i said it was in the blade part of the key.

for you sonic..
1) take the blade part off your key fob
2) look inside the little 'U' Shaped bit of plastic that the key is attached to
3) you will see a small little rectangle
4) remove this small rectangle out of the 'U' Shaped bit of plastic
5) look at the little rectangle and you will see a small glass tube
6) remove this tube
7) well done you found the IMMOB CHIP:doh:

Sonic please eat this tube and then try and drive your car.... have fun

Adam

**EDIT** infact, just to show you i will take a picture if you still dont belive me

There's only one way to settle this - If Adam's wrong, the guy with the text speak has to sell his car. If Adam's right, the guy with the text speak (that continues despite it being a fnkpainint'ass) has to take his key apart and break the glass tube open and read us the message inside.

:cartman:

i laughed so hard when i read that last night!

its so funny people think this csr has no immob when it states on the spec sheets for the mk3, that they ALL came with immob's and then the 1.6 and cupra's (inc the R) have alarm systems too.

i personally havent seen an alarm on a 1.4 but im sure there is one out there!
