I dont know the answer to your queation but would like to know as mine doesnt work either, ive heard somewhere that the bottom one is supposed to display the radio station that is on.

i have an aftermarket head unit in now but it didnt display it when the standard one was in either.

it says in the manual it should display the radio info and ive got the standard radio and nothing! :(

Early Leons had the radio info displayed there, I think. The later ones don't, that doesn't display anything on mine.

I did wonder about an LED boost gauge in there

I think the display is only fitted if you have an automatic gearbox (I don't). Top line shows selector lever position, bottom line is supposed to show outside temperature or radio info.

As Feel said, it was only used on very early models. I think past 2001/2002 it wasn't used any more. So if your car is newer than that, you don't have that option.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but we are encouraged to use the Search :p

Did anyone ever find out if it's possible to display anything here? When I say anything I mean I want mine to display, at least, the CD track time played or at the very most, CD Artist/Album etc...

I'm using stock CD changer and head unit in a standard 04 Cupra Tdi.

The clocks just have an empty space there with plastic thin cover, so if you can find a display to show summat thro either of the little windows yer done!!!

So if I can find information on the wiring, and a display that's compatiable it should just all work? The standard HUs still have the functionality?

nah, just want the music info! lol

So it the HU in the early leons that supported it different to the HUs in later ones that don't spport it?

Wonder if the part numbers for HUs and displays are available from Seat?
