One of the guys at work took his ST for a day with Carlimits. Car had to go back to Ford next day as the ABS and traction control stopped working. Didn't get the full details, was to smug to concentrate, all I know is they had to replace the front ABS censors.

Did the same driving with the LCR, set a better lap time and came away having only lost a few mil on the front tyres :D

when new i could easily pull away from both of mates st's. Now they have done about 10k miles - all of which have been thrashed from day one - there isn't much in it. One of my friends was speaking to the software engineers responsible for mapping them as standard and they said 225bhp is conservative. They reliably got about 245-250 on optimax. You need more than 20-30bhp to really pull away from another car convincingly. Have yet to race a remapped one but wouldnt like my chances. Almost thought of selling the lcr for one but i think the leon still looks far better.

its a handheld chip, that you plug into the diagnostics port, i had one on my zetec-s, it added around 8bhp [which aint bad for a N/A] just makes it more driveable really

My colleague of mine has a ST 2 and its quick, don't get me wrong but after a blast in my LCR he said mine felt quicker and smoother whereas his ran out of oomph at 5.5k. In a drag race if we ever do one (Santa A444  ) I bet I would win. Although with all variables taken into consideration, the Focus should win, it has more torque thanks to the extra cylinder. I'm not quite sure at the moment but the LCR seems a tad lighter than the ST 2, his has got most of the extra kit on it whereas most of the LCRs come with most options ticked anyway.
I've looked on Parkers and it looks as though the 3 yr price for a used Focus ST will be half that of the purchase price (~18500k to ~9350k) whereas the LCR retains a good resale value (~18000k to ~13000k over 3 years).
