Not had the car long but noticed when I washed it for the first time that it is missing a piece of trim on the front drivers side wheel arch.

It is like a small black plastic stone or splash guard that goes also under the arch liner which protrudes to outside of wheel arch , it is there on the front passenger side?

They are also on the rear but colour coded, front is just black.

Anyone know the part I am trying to explain so that I can buy it?

I have taken a photo from a another Leon that I found with the part in question, not all seem to have these?

They’re known as wheel spoilers, wheel arch spoilers or wheel arch lip spoilers.

On performance models with wider wheels and tyres than the non performance models, there’s a risk that the tyres on the performance models may extend beyond the wheel arch edge. So manufacturers fit these little plastic lips / wheel spoilers that are intended to cover any exposed tyre tread when viewed from directly above the wheel, as legally (in the UK), and for safety reasons, no part of the tyre should extend beyond the bodywork.

Sorry, don’t know the part number, but hopefully the name of the part will help so you’ll know what to search for if buying on the web or what to ask for if buying from a Seat dealership.

Thanks for the info, typical my 1st mot is due in 4 weeks so will have to sort it out.

Can’t seem to find part online other than for the previous generation fr that I owned before.

Some VW owners on Golf forums have actually removed these wheel spoilers as they feel they spoil the look of the car, and I can’t recall reading on any forums of those cars failing an MOT for not having wheel spoilers fitted.

Additionally, there’ll also be those owners who fit aftermarket alloys that are wider and / or have a more aggressive offset than OEM alloys, and can’t recall reading of any MOT failures of those cars for having excessively protruding wheels / tyres (that’s not to say there haven’t been any though).

You could try forum sponsor @COX Motor Parts to see if they could supply these wheel spoilers for the mk4 Leon.
