Hi folks,

Getting my Forge DV fitted next week... so have been looking at getting an inudction kit for my car,

I know Forge have had theres on the market for a fair while now so was actually nearly at the point of buying this kit, however ITG have just realesed there new kit for the tsi engine so im not sure whats the best route to go here, ITG is more expensive so would have to save up a bit more cash first,

anyone got any thoughts, gains, pics or videos of these kits, thanks :D

I had the ITG maxogen on my octavia vRS 2.0TFSI and it was immense. Ill post my thoughts on that intake as it might be similar on the 1.4TSI.

Bear in mind the ITG uses an oiled foam filter, so will require cleaning annually. This involves soaking in oil and massaging any grime and dirt out. You then allow it to vaporise before re-oiling the filter again. The forge is a cotton filter and wont be as in depth for cleaning.

On the TFSI the maxogen intake was probably the highest performing intake available, followed very closely by the forge twintake which s using 2 of the filters you get withthe forge 1.4TSI. This is because the ITG filter has a pretty large surface area whihc is everything in an induction kit.

The ITG maxogen was also ALOT louder than the forge twintake on the TFSI. However the ITG was an open filter on the TFSI and the Forge was enclosed so that might explain why.

ITG were here finalisng a few things on the kit yesterday, including the air feed pipe.

Where does the ITG kit draw the air in from? .... is it the same principle as the forge and stock filter from behind the bumper where the Seat badge is as the pics on the websote dont show u excatly the whole kit if u know what i mean

This is the part of the kit which hasn't quite been finalised as yet. ITG will be testing various alternatives but I would imagine it will be a simple universal and flexible hose, picking the air up from the upper right part of the nearside headlight. Andy from ITG assures me that this is a cool air spot. Kit may be supplied with some form of blanking foam section to stop any hot air getting near the intake.

No not from the wheel arch. The hose squeezes in between (just) the battery and the wing and then sits behind the headlight. That just needs to be be made to look tidy.

Yes you can rely on ITG to develop the best possible intake.

Hi

I spoke with Andy from ITG yesterday and he has kits being prepared now and ready for shipping to me on Monday or Tuesday next week. The silicon hose connection uses a T piece, which Andy is waiting on and estimates a due date of 4 weeks for those. In the meantime I have ordered a few kits which use an alloy take-off connection instead of a moulded T section. Will do the same job but just not as easy on the eye, although I don't see the problem with this myself. The cold air-feed pipe will just be a universal neoprene flexible hose. This will run between the battery and wing and pull cool air in from behind the headlight.

Pictures will be up soon once I have the kits here.

im intrigued as why they havent used the slam panel to collect like their original carbon fibre maxogen intake and the forge intake

We have this on our Ibiza but not many people were willing to pay the £350 + VAT for it. ITG kits are not mass produced for their own stock but are made to order and usually high quantity orders, supplying demand from their distributors and dealers. They didn't receive enough demand so it has been simplified somewhat, making it cheaper and more cost effective.

£250 + VAT for spun aluminium kits, using neoprene hose. Or £350 + VAT, or thereabouts, for the carbon fibre intake. £100 is quite a big jump and Andy has told me the results are just as good with the less expensive version.

As far as i'm aware the ITG is the only intake with proof of before and after dyno runs. Seemed to yield good results as well, if i had the cash spare i would sell my induction kit and grab one of these :)

i understand fully why they have changed the design of the intake to make it more cost effective, but my confusion is why they have suddenly moved to collecting air from behind the headlights instead of their previous carbon fibre/forge intake using the slam panel.

How is it being fixed behind the headlight? Would have been good if they could have developed the spun aluminium intake that looked and fitted just like the carbon fibre version
