It's A Very Sad Day!! not any more!!

It's a very sad day today! I have just put up a for sale ad for my mk2 ibiza gti I really really don't want to sell it but unfortunately due to a very nasty left leg injury a few years ago I have always struggled with clutches. but mostly just kinda managed, but lately I've not been able to operate the clutch on my car cos it's quite heavy. so it's time to accept the fact that I need an automatic car now!! boo!:

Did you try changing the clutch and cable? Although saying that even with them changed the clutch is still heavy compared to other cars.

plenty of good cars still have automatics

3 litre twin turbo supra for a start has an auto

mercs/jags etc all have 4 litre V8 auto sport boxes

it's kinda my fault too a bit! i wrecked it once 9 years ago but was still able to operate a clutch normally, problems only started after i wrecked the same leg again on my mountainbike! thats when the troubles began! it occasionally dilsocated itself mid journey! ouch!!! would love all of the above cars! but lack of a budget preventes that! so i'm getting a 2.6L straight six powered carlton....for free!!

Legacy B4, most of them are automatics. Crippling insurance and running costs but it's a genteman's subaru. Fantastic cars!

legacy b4's are total animals!!! can't afford one still!!! can't afford very much! hence the FREE carlton!! still, in its favour it does have a 175bhp 2.6L straight 6 engine! plus a very usefull 200lb/ft of torque! it's got a clever "dual ram" twin throttle body inlet system. aircon even works despite it being on a J plate. because it's only 1991 car i can remove the cats (it has 2!) to release a fair chunk of power. the seats are electrically heated! and it has cruise(missile?) control! took it for a spin today and it got up to 140 without too much bother. quite sluggish off the line but then most things are compared to a partly stripped out ibiza 8v gti! the damn thing even goes round corners quite well thanks to a multi-linked rear end and hoooge anti roll bars! just got to get it on the road! (has no tax or MOT)

it was on my own private test track officer! legacy b4 would probably be my choice too if i had spare few grand to buy one. i took the ibiza out for a spin last night, i really am going to miss the wee beasty! brings a hooooge smile to my face every time i exit a 2nd gear corner with a bit of pace! whoever buys it had better look after it or they'll be hunted down llike a dog!

got the carlton through it's MOT without any problems. it's now on the road. just fugured out that i can easily afford both cars and just keep my ibiza for trackdays and a bit of weekend fun..finally turn it into the road legal track slag that i always wanted it to be!! i need an automatic for longer trips or anyhing that might invlove stop/start traffic. but i can manage the ibiza clutch just fine for about an hour or so! hurray!!
