Yes you can but I can’t remember the dimensions of it! Give jabba a call tomorrow and I’m sure they will be happy to help! :D

just a jetex filter isn't it?

nothing too special - why not ask Bill to cross refer it to a green filter.

i know what jabba will say you have by the whole kit haid same grief with sachs clutch kit they dont like giving away secrets it does have j&r stamped on the lid cant see why its £230 i was lucky it was on the leon when i bought it

i will give bill a try thats a good idea

Seriously if you tell them you have one of there kits and you need a new filter im sure they will provide you with one at a reasonable price! There a friendly reasonable bunch!

dont know about had a sachs clutch fitted on my ibiza that gave up years down the line and they would not give me part number had to guess in the end good company though

Jabba induction kit is a HUGE ripoff, you could make the same thing for about £60 (no offense Jabbasport but that price is daylight robbery!). The LCR MAF is 80mm so just buy a JR filter from Jetex with an 80mm neck for £47 - to me it looks like FR-08001 or FC-08001 is what you want.

Green Filters also an option and well proven.. well priced also.
£47 can get a 200mm Green Cone filter in 80mm size

if running an fmic will the heat shield be required?

the jabba one with the heat shield creates an air tight housing ensuring cold , clean air... been toying with the idea of trying to reproduce this idea.
but do i need to with an fmic?

I expected better from you Rob!

I don’t get why people think the jabba induction kit is such a rip off!? I do not want to start an argument, just think about this. It’s no more of a rip off than a “Green Dynatwist”. This is nothing more than a filter with a pipe over it! The jabba kit has a stainless heat shield that is cut round all the contours of this area of then engine bay folded and welded into shape then finished with rubber trim. I should think this Is where most of the cost is involved and as we all know it is expensive to produce things like this in small numbers! There is also a machined piece of stainless that steps it up to 90mm (the filter has a 90mm neck).:)

fmic has nothing to do with heatshield. engine bay is hot with or without an fmic, which only cools air charge temps.

Just out of interest with all the talk of people saying the engine bay temps make no difference to a turbo car as the air is heated up anyway after it leaves the turbo. Why does everyone seem to comment that their car pulls harder on a winters day is it due to cooler air being more dense?. What I'm getting at is basically is a heat shield worth it?. Does it make a difference really?. The KN 57i or whatever being one of the filters that comes without.

so if using an open filter a heat shield will improve power (as long as it works?)

the readings for fueling are taken before the air gets to the turbo? maf?
so the ic trys to maintain that air temp taking away the extra heat caused by the compressor?

i was getting it wrong by seeing the fmic as an extra cooler but its only there to negate the turbo heat effect?

or am i sounding daft.

thanks lofer!
very useful... i need to somehow get the shape of the heat shield :D

thing is ive got good cold air from the standard 225 air box with green panel filter and it works.. but id like to go open. id hate to lose any performance by drawing warmer air.
